About Immanuel
Immanuel was established in 2002, with a vision to make God real, relevant and personal to people in Penarth. But what kind of church are we?
- Immanuel is an evangelical church - that is we believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and that getting to know God in a personal relationship is the most important thing in life.
- Immanuel is a relevant church. We work hard at being friendly and inclusive to everyone who attends our services and activities, and to make our services informal and releavnt. We're committed to meeting the needs of our community and communicating our faith with honesty.
- Immanuel is an independent church - we're a mainstream Christian church, led by a team of two leaders:

Jason Vincent-Newson![]() |

Gerwyn is married to Debbie, and they have four children. He works as a Manufacturing Engineer in a local medical company. Despite being a Christian most of his life there was a time when he tried to do things 'his way' and enjoy life for the moment. Coming back to God was like starting all over again. His passions include studying and teaching the bible in as relevant and challenging way as possible. His hobbies include sport (football, squash and tennis) watching Coronation Street and Emmerdale, listening to music and writing the occasional song. |
Jason and his wife, Rebekah, are passionate about people, helping everyone to fulfil their potential, and in "solving problems", whether from a practical or a relational point of view. Together they spent a number of years doing mission work in Ukraine before arriving at Immanuel
Jason loves mountain biking, spending time with his family and anything technical. A trained and experienced sound engineer, Jason is responsible for the technical aspects of Immanuel, from PA/sound to laptops. Jason and Rebekah have two children, Josie and Carla. |
